Backdoor Bread:
A Whole Grain Project

100% whole, unsifted, house milled, organic grains!

Backdoor Bread is whole grain project using regionally-sourced, 100% organic whole grains. Jim Williams, co-owner of Seven Stars Bakery, is getting involved in a whole grain movement in the U.S., sourcing and supporting farmers who are growing long forgotten varieties of wheat. With our stone mill, Jim is milling and testing different techniques to create delicious, healthy and nutrition packed breads. Breads are exclusively available on Wednesdays at the Lippitt Park Farmers’ Market from 3-6pm (or until sold out).  He will not be at every single market this summer, so follow him on instagram for updates: @backdoorbread  or email him to be added to his notification list: jim@sevenstarsbakery.com

Our Baking Process

All of our breads are made with four basic ingredients: flour, water, salt and yeast or sourdough starter. To those ingredients we add nuts, raisins, cheese, olives—but never preservatives.
