The Seven Stars Story
Born & Bread in 2001
It started with a converted gas station on Hope Street and a simple idea from founders Lynn and Jim Williams: bake great bread the old-fashioned way, with the best ingredients, and welcome everyone who walks in like a guest in our home.
The neighborhood noticed. Before long, the little cafe was so busy that the ovens had to move out to make room for more tables, and our baking moved to its own dedicated bakery.
Seven Stars, Seven Cafes
Broadway came next in 2007, then Rumford in 2009, in the old Rumford Baking Powder factory, of all places. In 2018, Jim and Lynn handed the keys to a group of longtime regulars, and Sarah Williams (no relation!), with us for 13 years, stepped up as Head Baker. Since then we've opened on Reservoir Avenue in Cranston, in the Jewelry District on Point Street, in East Greenwich, and in Cranston's Edgewood neighborhood.
Still Obsessed
Every café has its own personality, but they all share the same breads, pastries, sandwiches, salads, and coffee, and the same obsession with getting every loaf, every latte, and every hello just right.
Behind it all is a team of more than 150: bakers working through the night, drivers filling the bread racks before sunrise, and baristas pulling the best lattes around.
Grabbing a coffee on the run, lingering over a croissant and a book, or catching up with a friend over lunch, we just want to be the best part of your day.
