Food Prep Team 4:30am-2:00pm

Seven Stars Bakery is hiring Part-Time Food Prep team member to work at our Production Bakery location in Providence, RI.  The shifts start as early as 4:30am and end as late as 2:30pm on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Shifts are scheduled from 4-8 hours each. All potential applicants must have flexible availability and have reliable source of transportation to get to work on time. Please be advised public transportation may not be running during all of these schedule hours. 

We are open 7 days a week so availability on both weekend days and holidays is required!!

The Part-Time Prep position is responsible for preparing ingredients for and aiding with assembling our sandwiches, salads, quiche, and pastries. The food prep position requires the ability to work well independently and with a team. Strong time management, organizational and math skills are required as well as the ability to following prep lists and pars, date and rotate stock according to FIFO methods.  You will also be aiding in the making of pie crusts, scones, cookies, and scooping other pastry items.

  • Work effectively with a team, and complying with company procedures and food safety policies
  • Prepare ingredients following recipes and guidelines
  • Advanced understanding of food preparation fundamentals
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Neat and organized
  • Energetic and self-motivated
  • Proficient knife skills
  • Ability to use a meat slicer
  • Ability to follow recipes
  • Knowledge of proper sanitation practices and safe food handling practices
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen area by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, compost and recycling
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance multiple times
  • Kitchen production experience preferred
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Able to read and understand English (for recipes and production sheets)
  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred

This is a non-exempt hourly position.  Pay rates start at $15/hr.
