Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and hospitality-driven Store Manager (Café Manager) to lead daily café operations and inspire a team committed to delivering exceptional customer service.

The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of café operations, including hiring, training, scheduling, inventory management, customer experience, financial accountability, and compliance with food health and safety standards. This role sets the tone for the team by modeling service excellence, operational discipline, and community engagement.

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong leadership, sound operational judgment, and a commitment to building a café culture that reflects the values and quality standards of Seven Stars Bakery.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Demonstrates an enthusiastic, positive, and solutions-oriented leadership style
  • Possesses a genuine passion for hospitality and a natural ability to create exceptional guest experiences
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of management or supervisory experience in a hospitality, café, restaurant, or retail environment required
  • Experience managing in a unionized workforce environment is strongly preferred
  • Reliable transportation required for bank deposits, inter-location travel, and operational support across café locations
  • Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations; Rhode Island Food Safety Manager Certification preferred (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Hands-on experience operating professional espresso equipment, grinders, and brewing systems
  • Strong financial acumen, including cash handling, deposit preparation, basic P&L awareness, and comfort with daily sales reporting
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule aligned with café operating hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members and senior leadership to drive performance, accountability, and positive employee relations
  • High school diploma or GED required; additional coursework or certification in Business, Hospitality, or related field preferred
